World imports of fresh and frozen pork to the UK totalled 362,800 tonnes in 2010, one per cent higher than in 2009.
In terms of major suppliers Denmark supplied 27% of product with the
Netherlands the second largest supplier with 18%. Belgium, Germany and Ireland
all supplied 13%. Poland supplied 730 tonnes inn 2010, 0.2% of the UK total
imports. This is considerably lower than 1,480 tonnes in 2009 and 4,583 tonnes
in 2008.
