Feed and straw management to reduce the risk of mycotoxins
Straw stocks will be running low as we await the new supply coming in from harvest. Some of this old straw may be rather poor quality and could even be mouldy and contain mycotoxins
Poor quality straw can
be a real threat to pig health and performance so make sure you and your staff
remain vigilant. Discard all poor quality straw to prevent pigs from eating it
and to reduce the risk of contaminating unaffected straw. See
Action for
Productivity 8 for further
advice.
