A good week for training - 2nd July 2010

The pig industry is showing its commitment to training and professionalism yet again. BPEX Skills Development Manager Tess Howe reports on a busy and successful week for pig industry people.
Here are some of the achievements.

  • 75 people in Yorkshire will be starting a practical in-house training scheme in the next couple of months. Managers will be trained as trainers to deliver the modules on farm.
  • The Eastern Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Award programme started last week and was received very positively.
  • The Yorkshire ILM Award programme has nine potential bookings – with a maximum of 10, it is almost fully booked!
  • The college lecturer club held its first meeting with a lot of enthusiasm from members teaching pig-related topics at colleges around the country
