Entries are coming in for the award, worth more than £2500 and today is the last day to get your entry in!
The Pfizer Trainee of the Year Award 2010 is open to all United Kingdom pig
unit personnel who can show how training benefits both their career and the
performance of livestock on their unit.
Founded by Agskills, the award has gone from strength to strength since it
became a national award in 2007. It has been extremely motivating, not only for
entrants and their employers, but also for the industry as a whole.
It is the practical skills acquired through training that are judged, not
literary skills and newcomers have as good a chance of success as more
experienced employees.
The winner’s employer receives a £2,000 training
grant.
The winner receives a £500 cash prize, an engraved trophy and an
overnight trip to London to attend the presentation event at the
House of Commons.
The first stage of selection is based on a simple application form, which is
very quick to complete. The second stage is an informal interview with three
judges. They all want entrants to do well and are there to encourage them!
The closing date for entries is Friday 30 July
2010
